I see they changed the colour. I spent 4 years on the SOVEX. Not a bad rig at all.

I was the Skipper of the Standby Vessel the Scout and looked after the Sovex when she was in the North Sea. A great bunch of Guys and Dolls. A happy location.

I spent a few years on the Explorer as a crane driver

I was on it in 95 in the North Sea, then 2004 -2006 in Trinidad and Venezuela. Visited it again in 2010 sitting off Rio de Janeiro, and again in May this year in Pascagoula, where she is stacked.

This was one of the most technically challenging semis in the world, Was on her from 93/2003 in the N.Sea West Africa, Las Palmas and Trindad as Ch. Mech.. The crews were one of the best.

Always think yellow is such a awful sickly colour for a drilling rig, the original redish orange colour is best..
