Semac 1 at the Murchison
I took this pic on final approach to the accomodation barge, Borgland Dolphin I think. Despite the pic I have absolutely NO recollection of this barge, Semac 1, whatsoever. Or maybe it was only there in a pipelaying mode and not accomodation. I was one of a small number of men who were sent onto the Bergy worker crane barge to live. It was out of this world and when the authorities discovered just how good it was, we were taken off and it was used for Conoco staff only. I remember a stainless steel bucket full of dressed crab. It was also fitted out with the first sauna any of us had ever seen. This would be August/September 1980.
