I remember this very same view from the Heather Apha. I often had a container, (sorry cabin) to sleep in under one of those cranes with massive diesel engines running all night. Thank goodness for the little sponge ear plugs issued!

"Treasure Hunter" was the first living platform I slept on in the North Sea, tied up to DP2 ELF platform, during hook-up on Frigg field 1977. We lived 4 men in each container. Showers and toilets was located in an own container, so on shower/toilet visit`s we had to walk outside door on grating walkways.
Things have moved forward since then!!!!!!!

The 2 cranes in the picture are Manitowoc 4100w.S1. "Ringer" supplied & installed by a company based in the Midlands, (uk)GREENHAM PLANT HIRE. Aldridge. I was one of a crew involved in the installation on board "TREASURE HUNTER" at the Norwegian port of Stavangar. Other platforms were "Treasure Seeker, Belford Dolphin & The Bredford Dolphin" who all had "Manitowoc Ringer" cranes installed on board, again supplied by the company "Greenham Plant Hire" I still have diaries of maintenance & servicing schedules along with the names of the crane operatives & some of the Norwegian crew along with a vast array of photo's.

Worked on the Treasure Hunter in 1986 offshore Bergen while it was drilling exploration wells. Was much nicer than some of the GOM scows Pool used.
