The picture was taken in March 2009, by the Toolpusher Gurpreet Singh. The conditions in the Mediterranean were a bit of surprise to a lot of people, who expected conditions something similar to what is seen in a holiday brochure. The operating company Hess obviously chose the wrong rig, as we were waiting on weather for a considerable time. The Saturn was not moored to take into account of prevailing winds, as the area was prone to winds and seas from multiple directions. As a result of severe weather at a later stage, we experienced 4 anchor cables breaking in quick succession. Just before this started happening, I was pulling out of the hole, and had just pulled the BHA above the BOP, when the first two anchor cables broke, so we were able to emergency disconnect the LMRP. The other two cables parted soon after this. The event meant a trip to Malta for new anchor cables, anchors and chain. More importantly, it also meant a trip to the many bars in Malta.
