The drillship Songa Saturn

The drillship Songa Saturn rolling in the Mediterranean, offshore Libya, in March 2009. The roll at this point was 18 degrees. However, I was on it when it rolled up to 30 degrees.

The BOP on the Starboard side was secured by various chains and boomers and a number of home made securing points, which had been made by the Indian rig welder. It's testament to his skill, that the BOP remained secured. I often looked at the BOP when it was secured on deck,
and wondered how it remained upright.
