owwww, aren't they beautifull!! I've worked on Rockwaters Semi 2 for 2 years as a medic in '90-'92. Wonder what everybody I used to work with is doing these days.

Both of them are in Mexico, they belong to MMM now (Mexican Company). I have been working for last 6 years on Semi 2 as a Project Controls Eng.
Both rigs are in better shape as shown in this pic, a lot of maintenance, Semi 1 is in Galveston USA now on Dry Dock. Still painted same colors, same names and just the company logo has changed.
Semi 1 got the diving area re-worked and it is an extended accomodation section. Semi 2 still have the diving equipment.
They are used as construction, maintenance and Well Service support for Pemex fixed rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.

Date of the pic is 25-26th of march 1998, we spent the winter in the North Atlantic freezing our nads off in regular force 11 + 12s Developing the Foinaven field for BP. Both vessels De-mobilized the same day and headed for warmer climates, I remember these days distinctly in Invergordon as it blew a gale and periodically Snowed just to finish us off! 10 Days later i was back up In fionaven on a mono Hull wishing i was back on 4 legs!!

I was campboss on Semi 2 94/2000, trying to contact Oim Case Stapel, is Semi2 still in Gulf?

Added by Michael Grubb on 05 February 2011.
Hi Michael, our campboss in these days was ehhhh... Ramiro? No.. can't remember his name. I've been trying to find Cees and Gien (my colleagu medic) as well. Any idea what happened of Mike Carruthers, dive tech?

Both rigs still operating at the Gulf of Mexico, in the bay of Campeche. Mexican company MMM is now the one who has them. March 6th 2012 semi 1 suffered a blackout and became inoperative, has problem on the DP.

Thanks for the pictures and the memories guys!
(I have seen them being built as I worked for Smit Offshore at the time)
I am happy at least one of them has its diving equipment operational.

I worked on the Semi 1, commissioning the Huisman Mast Crane at the Shipyard and later during the Norwegian trials. Glad to see they are still going strong.
