I don't know the name of this rig but it is on tow, it's high in the water. Notice the wash to the left of the picture.. Their is no drill pipe in the derrick. This rig dates way back, must be mid 70's.

This is the Nortrol, I was driller on her, not sure where it is or when, she came out of the shipyard and drilled 3 wells in the British section, she then went as accommodation barge in Norway on the Ekofisk field, we brought her into Hougesen and put the derrick back on her, around 1977 I think and took her out drilling north of the 62 parallel in Norwegian section of the North Sea. I left her in 1978 in when the strike was on up in a fjord close to Froya.

Definitely, the Nortroll. Stayed on this rig in April 1979, during the Cormorant hook up. As I remember, the laundry for all personnel was left in a big pile. It was definitely a case of 1st up best dressed. I remember Barry Summers, he was toolpusher on the Cormorant A.

Nortroll then Ali Baba. Converted to Emerald Producer (Emerald Field, MSR...a sorry tale!) and then became Northern Producer.

I was on the Nortroll in 1979. She was being used as an accommodation rig, when she was moored beside the Cormorant Alpha, during the hook up phase. I believe at the time 650 workers were working on the hook up.

I took out the NorTrym from Sandefjord after turning it back to a drilling rig after being a flotel. Did the same thing on the NorTroll out of Haugesund.
