I still remember as a 1st year apprentice being allowed on her as the pontoon section was lowered in the Clyde and the platform being floated over and joined in a delicate operation.
Penultimate Semi-submersible built in deep water by Scott/Lithgow.
The era was coming to an end!
Thousands of skilled men witnessing the demise of a once great Shipbuilding Institution.

I served my time as a welder with Mcmillan Offshore and my first job was working on spacers for drill pipes for this rig and Ocean Alliance.

Had just finished my time as a plater on this rig , not realising the biggest and best was yet to come Ocean Alliance for Britoil and Odeco the rolls Royce of rigs built by a group of craftsmen the world will never see again, how many skilled men do you know that could roll shell and pontoon plates to mm of accuracy while getting paid a third of the going rate
